New head of field sales for Simon Jersey
Altham-based uniform provider, Simon Jersey, has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Colin Quigley as head of field sales.
Colin has joined the company to lead a team of sales representatives covering England, Scotland and Wales. His aim is to further develop the field sales channel as part of the company’s ambitious growth strategy.
Primary targets for Colin and his team will be large-scale customers in the hospitality, beauty and education sectors. Colin has a wealth of experience with these types of customers, joining Simon Jersey from hotel supplier Corby of Windsor where he was commercial manager.
In addition to Colin’s appointment, the field sales team has been further bolstered with four new representatives, allowing Simon Jersey to target more new business throughout the UK.
The increased headcount has boosted capacity ahead of a spotlight on Simon Jersey next year when the company will supply suiting and closing parade clothing for Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Colin said: “This is an exciting time to have joined Simon Jersey. We have a very strong product range and an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate field sales team ready to make the most of the opportunities our partnership with Team GB could bring.”
Paul Farrell, Simon Jersey sales director, added: “Colin’s experience is a perfect fit for Simon Jersey and he has already hit the ground running, demonstrating his ability to successfully lead a sales team.
“Field sales is an important channel for us and will become an even greater focus over the next five years. With Colin and a strong team in place we are ideally placed to target future growth.”
Simon Jersey has been supplying uniforms for nearly 45 years and over half a million people wear its garments at work each day. The company supplies uniforms to more than 50,000 customers worldwide ranging from sole traders to managed contracts for multinational organisations.
In 2014, Simon Jersey was named as an official supplier to Team GB and will provide formalwear for athletes and officials to wear at events in Rio and the UK as well as outfits for the closing parade which will be seen by up to a billion people worldwide.
