Alderley Edge developer Select secures planning consent for £41m student scheme
North West developer Select Property Group has secured planning permission for a £41m million development in Edinburgh.
The company, which has UK offices in Alderley Edge and London, was given the go-ahead to deliver student accommodation in the Fountainbridge area of the Scottish capital.
Discussing the scheme, Select’s chief development officer, Ken Knott, said: “Select are immensely proud to be advancing the final phase of the Fountainbridge Regeneration Scheme and today’s news is a significant milestone for our business and the latest step in us bringing the Vita Student brand to Scotland.
“After 18 months of working with the city’s planners, we’re delighted they now truly understand our award winning Vita Student product and its unique position in the market.”
He continued: “Vita Student places as much emphasis on customer service as it does offering stylish accommodation.”
The new residence, operating under Select’s Vita Student brand, will include 261 self-contained studios and a 5,000 sq ft social hub containing private study space, a gym and a cinema room.
Mark Stott, CEO of Select Property Group, added: “With eight residences operational and four more sites in development across Glasgow, Newcastle and York, we’re looking forward to adding another award winning residence to our portfolio north of the border and supplying the unmet demand in this fantastic city.”
