Crestfield Properties secures £1m funding package for Surrey residential development

A residential development in Surrey has received a significant boost from The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Developer Crestfield Properties has secured a £1m property loan from RBS to build nine residential properties on the site in Godalming.

The refurbishment of an existing office block, which has been converted into nine two and three bedroom modern houses, demonstrates the creative and innovative ideas of C7 Architects, a local architectural firm based in Peasmarsh.

Sandford Mews comprises of a mixture of two and three bedroom homes, all complete with off-street parking.

The development took ten months to complete and is the first residential development Crestfield Properties have been associated with.

All nine houses, ranging from £270,000 to £350,000, are now occupied and appealed to first time buyers and investors due to its central location close to Godalming’s mainline station.

Warren McMurray, director at Crestfield Properties, said: “Sandford Mews has been a real success story for us as it’s our first residential development and to be almost sold prior to completion was not something we were expecting.

“Our overall design, coupled with the quality build, obviously appealed to the market as we sold the last one just after completing the project. As developers and architects, we were very conscious of the orientation of the building and used materials to bounce light off.”

David Burke, senior relationship manager at The Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “C7 Architects are really putting themselves on the map as the local architects of choice as the homes really appeal to the younger first-time buyer’s market.

“Crestfield Properties have surpassed their expectations of selling these houses off plan and we are delighted to be associated with a house builder that continues to deliver high quality housing within the area.”
