Proud Northerner John Grundy to speak at Tyne & Wear Heritage Conference

Architectural historian and broadcaster John Grundy has been revealed as a speaker at the upcoming Tyne & Wear Heritage Conference, ‘Innovation, Invention, Industrialisation’.

Organised by the Tyne & Wear Heritage Forum, the event will see the coming together of all local heritage and history groups in the region, as well as members of the general public.

As a well-known TV presenter and author John has written and presented various architectural programmes for both radio and television such as “Townscape”, “Grundy’s Wonders”, “Grundy’s Northern Pride”, and many others.

Born in Cumberland and still living in the region, he is passionate about the North of England and in particular the history and heritage preserved here.

Tony Stephenson, from the Tyne & Wear Heritage Forum, said: “John has introduced thousands of people to the unique and often breath-taking architecture of the North and has become one of the most popular presenters on local television and is also an accomplished public speaker with an endearing, self-deprecating, sense of humour.

“We’re delighted and honoured he will be speaking at our conference and look forward to hearing from him, along with the previously confirmed Adam Hart-Davis, this is a fantastic line-up”

The evnt will take place at the Biscuit Factory, Newcastle, on 23rd January 2016.
