Widnes timber firm invests five-figure sum in new showroom
A Cheshire-based timber products firm has opened a new showroom following a five-figure investment.
The centre, which took six months to create, is now open at Silva Timber Products’ Widnes headquarters.
Managing director Nick Taylor said: “Speciality timbers are becoming increasingly popular as a means of making projects stand out, and we understand that our customers sometimes want to see more than just an image or small sample of the timber they are looking to use.
“We have therefore custom-built the ideal environment where they can come and see, touch and envelop themselves in our full product range.”
He added: “With large-format samples and our team of experts on hand to guide visitors through the products, finishes and maintenance requirements, our new showroom will make it easier for the general public and people from the trades to choose the right products for their projects.”
Silva Timber Products has grown with the introduction of 15 new products in the last 12 months. In July, the firm landed a contract to become the UK’s only supplier of mandioqueira, a variety of South American hardwood.
The investment in the new showroom follows upgrades made earlier this year to Silva’s warehouse and software systems, as well as an expansion of its vehicle fleet.
