TyresOnTheDrive.com partner with Cheshire Fire Service to highlight winter driving safety
A Cheshire based mobile tyre fitting company is joining forces with Cheshire Fire Service to highlight winter driving safety as part of Tyre Safety Month run by TyreSafe.
Ten roadshow events are taking place across the North West to drive home the importance of checking tyres before the winter weather sets in.
The events follow the Department for Transport’s annual report of accident statistics which revealed the number of motorists killed or seriously injured due to tyre defects rose to 224 in 2014, with total casualties at 1,125.
TyresOnTheDrive.com will provide all attendees with a free tyre safety check and each driver will receive a winter driving pack which includes safety information, tyre pressure and depth gauges and de-icer.
Dominic Clark, CEO and founder of TyresOnTheDrive.com, said: “As the winter weather creeps in, motorists need to be more aware than ever of how tyres can affect driving safety.
“We are proud to be working with the Cheshire Fire Brigade to raise awareness of tyre safety and educating motorists on the importance of checking their tyres more often.”
TyreSafe, one of the UK’s leading tyre safety organisations is urging motorists to check their tyres more regularly, as its 2015 survey revealed 27 percent of people replace their tyres when they are already illegal.
Frances Egerton, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service road safety officer, said: “Engaging with drivers across Cheshire to advise them on safer driving in wintery conditions is an important part of our road safety campaigning.
“Our aim is to cut road traffic collisions and incidents. We hope that people will take the time to have their cars checked by our crews and take away some helpful information.”
TyresOnTheDrive.com is a mobile tyre fitting business that allows customers to book online and have their tyres fitted at any suitable location of their choice.
