National industry recognition at Constructing Excellence Awards
Representing the North East, Stanley-based Hodgson Sayers has won the SME category of the Constructing Excellence Awards, held at London’s prestigious Grosvenor Hotel.
The Awards recognise the very best companies, collaborations and projects sharing best practice and inspiring others to adopt new and better ways of working that deliver outstanding results.
The company returns to London next month along with six other companies from the region for the British Chamber of Commerce national awards in the People Development Award. In the regional heat Hodgson Sayers won the Apprenticeship category.
Don Ward, Chief Executive of Constructing Excellence, said: “Market prospects are improving. Most sectors and regions are on the up, and it is to be hoped that excellence will return to the fore in projects. It is therefore great to recognise those individuals and organisations who are leading this trend.
“Totally inclusive, our awards are open to the whole sector from buildings to infrastructure, all parts of the supply and demand chain, all disciplines, professions and trades.
“We are looking for projects, organisations or individuals where outstanding performance has been achieved during the calendar year 2014.”
John Sayers, Managing Director at Hodgson Sayers, said: “To be nominated at a national level let alone to go on and win the SME award is testament to the talent that we have within the team.
“This is a national award and we were gobsmacked when we found out we had won, it took a couple of seconds for the news to sink in. This is something we are really proud of and it is fantastic news not just for us but also for the region. Over the last few years we have steadily built our profile and have reaped the reward for our hard work.
“This is an award that we very much wanted to win and to be recognised outside of the North East and by our peers in the industry is an acknowledgement of the commitment and dedication of everyone in the business.”
