Brayton Farm Shop is based at Mill Lane, Brayton, Selby.

Three generations of Selby family open Brayton Farm Shop

Three generations of one Selby family have opened the doors to a brand new 5,000 sq ft farm shop, which only sells Yorkshire made produce.

The new Brayton Farm Shop in Mill Lane has been open for business since October 22 – offering customers butchery, baked products and cheeses all from the region.

Run by the family who created Victoria Garden Centre in Pontefract and who combine more than 60 years’ experience in retail and farming, the farm shop includes a butchery, deli and grocery as well as a café.

Lillian, head of the indomitable Hirst family, said: “We want to offer a great local alternative for the weekly shop. Brayton will be a place where the customer feels valued and is given the time and attention they deserve.

“It’s going to be a real family affair with the full support of my husband, two sons and their partners.

“Farm shops are perceived to be expensive, but we don’t see any reason why you have to pay a premium for farm produce. At Brayton, good food won’t just be a treat for the weekend.”
