Theo Paphitis gives Bacup company business boost
Retail entrepreneur and highly respected businessman Theo Paphitis has given a Bacup-based company a social media boost.
The former Dragons’ Den star chose workplace training and consultancy company, HearFirst as one of his ‘Small Business Sunday’ winners last week.
The weekly initiative, which is run by Theo himself encourages businesses to tweet him about their business and if selected, it helps to raise their social media profile and following.
Julie Ryder, Director and Founder of HearFirst tweeted Theo about the business and he retweeted the message to his 489,000 followers last Sunday. As a result, @hearfirst_ has been boosted with more than 100 new followers and a number of new enquiries have come through for their training services. They are now also profiled on a new website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.
HearFirst was established in 2002 and provides a full range of Deaf and disability awareness training courses to organisations across the UK.
Julie said, “I founded HearFirst from scratch and to have our business hand-picked by someone as well respected in the business world as Theo Paphitis is fantastic. For Theo to recognise and endorse the work that myself and my team have put into the business over the past 13 years and to make it as successful as it is today is wonderful.”
Organisations looking to become a Small Business Sunday winner should tweet Theo Paphitis about their business on Sunday between 5.00pm and 7.30pm and include the hashtag #sbs. Six luck businesses are tweeted every Monday at 8.00pm and then invited to enter their profile on the new website. This is done free of charge and the new website is sponsored by Ryman Stationery, where Theo is Chairman.
