Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel Wins National Honour
Managers at Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel are celebrating after winning an Investors in Young People Business of the Year 2015 award.
The four-star hotel, which provides modern leisure and business facilities on the edge of Epping Forest, Essex, received the honour earlier this month in recognition of their ongoing work with the local community.
The popular venue had hosted a series of ‘Motivation Conferences’ and ‘World of Work Conferences’ designed to inspire pupils from six state secondary schools across the Epping Forest District. The programme is due to be continued next year as part of the ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and the hotel will continue with its working relationship with the Yes Partnership.
The Yes Partnership is a voluntary organisation providing motivation and information to enable young people to access the path way to employment, working with 240 students per year across Yr 9 & 10.
General Manager, Russell Prior, and his team were presented with the award during an evening ceremony at Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel attended by patron Eleanor Laing MP Deputy Speaker, guest of honour Stephen Metcalfe MP and local event sponsors including Hill Partnership, Higgins Group, Abbey Total Care Group, London Executive Aviation, & H&M Security.
Speaking about the event, Mr Prior said: “We feel extremely honoured to have been recognised in this way. We pride ourselves on making a positive contribution to our local community and working with young people is one of the areas where we can make a difference. Being chosen as host venue for the awards made it an extra special evening.”
The award follows a busy period for the hotel which is currently developing a show kitchen facility and new, locally-sourced menu at its well-known Thyme Restaurant.
