North Shields Linskill Cafe undergoes refurbishment
Construction work has began on the redevelopment of the Linskill Cafe, based at the Linskill Centre in North Shields.
The regeneration will provide better kitchen facilities and an extended seating area for customers.
The redevelopment of the cafe is part funded by a secured grant through Power to Change and the remaining though a loan for The Key Fund.
Full plans are available to view at the Linskill Centre and the centre has recently been asking the public to vote on a new café name, the new name and branding will be announced soon.
Linskill Catering Supervisor, Stephen Lenahan, said: “The Linskill Centre continues to be at the heart of the local community and is used by thousands of people every year.
“As the popularity of the Centre continues to grow we want to upgrade our catering facilities to create an exceptional new café facility that will enable us to provide the highest standard of catering for the future.”
Refurbishment work is expected to be completed by mid-December and the café will re-open with extended opening hours and a new menu.
