Gorvins Managing Partner Triumphs as Legal Entrepreneur of the Year

Lorraine Lockie, Managing Partner of North West law firm Gorvins Solicitors has been named ‘Legal Entrepreneur of the Year’ ahead of senior partners from some of the largest law firms across the region.

Lorraine was awarded the honour at the prestigious Mancoolian Awards organised by influential business group Downtown in Business at a glittering awards ceremony in November, in recognition of her stellar work at Gorvins where she divides her time between her role as Managing Partner and Head of Residential Property.

The ‘Mancoolian Awards’ now in its 3rd year were created to celebrate and award the achievements of outstanding individuals from a broad range of industries across the region`s business community. They identify influential figures who make a difference to clients, businesses and the communities in which they operate.

“Lorraines achievement is especially hard won since it is predominantly based on nominations and votes from her peers across Manchester” ‘says the organisers of the awards. The award was given in recognition of Lorraines work in the North West and her influence in the region’s legal market. Others in this category were well-known lawyers and figureheads from some of the biggest firms in the region and says so much about Lorraine`s standing in the legal community.

As many can testify, Lorraine runs a very successful firm, retaining and rewarding staff and providing expert legal knowledge in a very tough market. She has long been known as one of the ‘go-to’ lawyers for commercial property advice so the award is so richly deserved.

Lorraine, who came to the law late with Newcastle firm Ward Hadaway has quickly risen through the ranks and cemented herself as a well-respected and influential figurehead amongst her clients, staff, legal peers and business community.

Commenting on the award Lorraine said: “I`m thrilled to have received this award – particularly since it is based on peer nominations. My career to date has been hugely satisfying and to be recognised in this way is extremely flattering.

I work with a team of dedicated and talented people whom I must thank for helping make Gorvins what it has become today. It is a privilege to contribute to the continuing success of the firm and I hope it remains for many more years to come. My congratulations go to all the other winners and of course to the other finalists who were nominated in my category.“
