Local brewery strengthens retail output
Little Valley Brewery, based in Hebden Bridge, has recently announced that two of its beers are now stocked in over 40 Co-op stores across Yorkshire. The announcement follows the news that Booths supermarkets increased its offering of Little Valley beers earlier this year.
As part of The Co-operative Food’s Local Supplier initiative, 42 stores across Yorkshire will now stock Little Valley’s Withens Pale Ale, which will sit alongside the Tod’s Blonde, which is available in 44 stores. Both of the bottle-conditioned beers will be available for £2.19 each and as part of the Co-op’s three for £5 deal.
Sue Cooper, Co-owner of Little Valley Brewery, recently visited the Co-op store in Mytholmroyd, along with other local suppliers, as part of the Local Supplier Initiative.
Sue commented: “This listing is fantastic news for us as a company and comes as a welcome reward for the continuing hard work and investment we put into brewing our beers. The work that the Co-op is doing to support local suppliers is invaluable for businesses in the region and we are proud to be a part of that.
“We have recently invested heavily in our marketing outputs and will be launching our new website very shortly, so we are hopeful that this will be the first of many exciting announcements we will make over the next few months.”
Kate Jones, Head of Local Sourcing at the Co-op, said: “Our customers have told us they want to buy local products such as Little Valley beers at their Co-op store and so we have responded by teaming up with more than 50 new Yorkshire suppliers.
“Products made in the vicinity of our stores are prized by customers who want to support locally produced regional food and drink which often helps to define a specific area such as Yorkshire.”
