£1m funding boost for C7 Architects' Guildford project

C7 Architects has secured £1m funding from Royal Bank of Scotland to purchase and renovate PM House, an office building in Peasmarsh, near Guildford, to accommodate local businesses with serviced office space.

The Surrey architecture practice has spent many months converting this 1980’s building into a modern work space, hoping local businesses to co-locate with the young and dynamic team of 15 architects. The 12,000 square foot office space consists of a number of serviced offices, plus some larger open planned office areas.

Collectively, C7 Architect Directors Warren McMurray, Paul Farr and Allan MacMillan boast over 30 years in the architectural and property industries before deciding to join forces in September 2009.

Design responsibility for the three unique spaces and themes that run throughout PM House is a team effort according to the three Directors with their current theme in their reception being Alice in Wonderland.

As well as designing and providing the serviced office space, the practice is responsible for a number of architectural projects in the UK, including renovating over 200 stores for a large multinational and bringing high quality residential housing projects to the market.

Warren McMurray, Director at C7 Architects said: “PM House has been an exciting project to work on which has provided a lot of fun and imagination. We are hoping this type of environment will continue to attract like-minded businesses that are looking for something a bit different, PM House certainly provides this.

“We feel confident the bank’s sector expertise and desire to help local businesses grow will help us achieve greater things to come.”

David Burke, Senior Relationship Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland added: “Working with C7 Architects has been a real pleasure and it’s great to witness first-hand the creativity they channel into their projects. PM House is a prime example of this as it’s not every day I visit my customers that have themes running through their offices. This level of detail is very inspiring and is helping them gain like-minded tenants.”
