Company’s acquisition creates powerful force in energy management

The acquisition of Aimteq Energy Management Ltd by WEMS Group is set to create a powerful force in the energy solutions market. For customers, this means a wider service offering and a true ‘turn key’ solution to energy management.

The acquisition brings together the skills and experience of two leading players in the energy solutions market. In doing so, an enhanced service offering is made possible. This will ensure a rapid ROI for customers coupled with maximum cost savings, operational efficiencies on both large-scale and less complex applications.

Aimteq Energy Management is one of the UK’s longest-established systems integration companies specialising in the installation, maintenance and monitoring of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Energy Management System (BEMS) equipment from a wide range of established BMS suppliers (Schneider, Cylon, Trend).

Bringing together Aimteq’s expertise with WEMS’s capabilities in wireless systems; Bureau Services (centralised remote monitoring of 1,000’s of sites); and large scale BMS deployment, creates a business with an ability to provide all types of BMS/BEMS solutions. This ensures capability and expertise regardless of project type, scale, complexity – from single building to multi-site enterprises.

Restructuring ensures independence

With the acquisition comes a restructuring of the two businesses. As a supplier of BEMS products, WEMS has recognised the need for Aimteq to maintain its status as a technology-agnostic ‘open systems house’ which is able to deliver the most appropriate solution to meet the needs of the customer.

As such, WEMS has separated out its hardware business (Wireless Energy Management Systems Ltd) from the re-named Aimteq Solutions Ltd, both are owned by Enterprise Solutions Holdings Ltd. Aimteq is responsible for 5,500+ successful installations and maintains over 1,500 sites across the UK. Going forward, all existing WEMS solutions contracts will continue to be serviced by Aimteq.

Responding to the market

“We have looked at the market and recognised that customers want a complete energy management service offering coupled with a range of solutions to best suit their needs,” comments Paul Summers, CEO at Enterprise Solutions Holdings Ltd. “Aimteq is an impressive business with an enviable reputation and installed base. Our businesses are naturally aligned and our skill-sets complement each other. As a complete BMS/BEMS solutions provider, we can offer so much more to customers.”

For Arthur Jupp, Managing Director at Aimteq Energy Management Ltd, the acquisition will bring about a new level of service and offering to customers. “This is a very exciting time for both parties. Together, we now have greater capability, a national reach and a much enhanced service offering. As a ‘one stop shop’ for energy-related BMS/BEMS services, we immediately distinguish ourselves from other businesses in the energy arena. Customers do not want multiple suppliers – they want one trusted partner. This is precisely what we are now able to deliver.”

Established businesses

Both companies are well established in their own right. With over 20 years of experience and a client base that includes some of the world’s best-known brands, Aimteq is one of the most trusted and proven names in the BEMS sector.

WEMS is the award-winning manufacturer of the world’s first truly web-enabled wireless BEMS technology. The company has an international presence and its hardware is installed all over the world including over 5000 BT sites.

Aimteq Solutions Ltd will operate from offices in Manchester and Cirencester (Gloucestershire).
