Milk Jnr’s & Kidworks Creates RMCH Activity Booklet
Milk Jnr’s & Kidworks – the Manchester & London based agency that specialises in creating engaging kids activity packs for some of the world’s biggest companies and family brands – is pleased to announce that Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity (RMCH Charity) is its chosen charity for 2015/ 2016.
As part of its activities, Milk Jnr’s has produced on a pro-bono basis a bespoke branded activity booklet for the hospital’s young patients. Over the last few months Milk Jnr’s has worked closely with the charity team at RMCH to produce a booklet that children will identify and engage with but that still follows the national curriculum framework for Key Stages 1 and 2.
Careful consideration has been paid to ensure the pack reflects the hospital’s environment and the charity’s current campaigns. Example content includes:
- A spot the difference based on a play area up on the hospital’s roof garden; -
A dot-to-dot game of a helicopter that has been designed around its Helipad Appeal; and -
- A space theme to reflect the radiology area.
The book itself is entitled ‘Humphrey’s Book of Fun’. Humphrey is the hospital’s mascot, and he leads children through the book from start to finish. RMCH is the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK and provides care for over 220,000 children and young people each year. It has a national reputation for providing the best care in a variety of specialist fields.
It is the main bone marrow transplantation unit outside of London and it has the largest specialist burns treatment and paediatric intensive care units in the country.
Zoe Telfer – Client Services Director at Milk Jnr’s & Kidworks - said: “Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is an amazing place so we were absolutely delighted to design and create the new booklet. The whole team works tirelessly to help the children of Manchester and the North West and we just hope ’Humphrey’s Book of Fun’ brings some joy to patients and their families.“
Joel Oxberry, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Milk Jnr’s for designing such a fantastic activity booklet which will be so engaging for our patients. The booklet will be a welcome distraction for the children, who often face prolonged stays on the wards, keeping them entertained between treatments. We love that Humphrey leads the children through the book, he is an important part of the charity and it is wonderful having a pro-bono booklet designed with Humphrey very much in mind.“
