Brayleys Cars expands in Enfield with Kia
Brayley Kia launch in Enfield opens door to new jobs
A major seven figure investment in a brand new Kia franchise on Great Cambridge Road in Enfield by award-winning car retailer, Brayleys Cars, has created 15 new jobs, including the opportunity for apprentices to enter the motor industry.
Following its five-month construction, adjacent to Brayleys’ existing Honda dealership, the new Kia showroom, which is the Korean manufacturer’s first outlet in North London, was officially opened by the Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Patricia Ekechi.
According to Brayleys, which has been operating in Enfield for over six years and employs over 50 staff at the two businesses, an increase in new car sales in the London borough this year is reflective of the motor industry’s continuing resurgence. The retailer has seen trading in Enfield go up by 8% year on year. In September, which saw a record number of new car registrations in the UK, Brayleys achieved its best ever performance since the company launched in 2003.
Commenting on the steady expansion of his business, which now has nine dealerships representing five manufacturers across North London, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, Paul Brayley, Managing Director of Brayleys Cars, said:
“The opening of our second dealership in Enfield cements our commitment to the area and offers motorists an even greater choice of stylish, fuel-efficient cars. Brayleys is extremely proud to launch Kia’s first showroom in North London and in doing so, we have welcomed a number of new staff to the team.”
Addressing guests at the official launch event, Joan Ryan, Member of Parliament for Enfield North, said:
“I am delighted to attend the opening of Brayleys’ new Kia franchise in Enfield. This showroom will provide new jobs and opportunities for a much needed apprenticeship scheme in the area. It’s great to see businesses investing in Enfield, so this will be of real benefit to our local economy.”
Also speaking at the opening, Paul Philpott, President and CEO, Kia Motors UK and Ireland, said:
“It’s great to see forward looking dealers prosper and Paul Brayley’s business portrays the future of the Kia brand very well with his fantastic new facility in Enfield. With a significant number of new vehicles launching over the next three years, it’s important to have the confidence of retailers and having been in partnership with Brayleys for three years, we know this will continue to strengthen.”
