Personal concierge startup that 'delivers anything' launches in London

A new personal concierge service, which promises to deliver busy Londoners anything from anywhere within central London on demand, launches this month.

Henchman has a team of drivers based across the capital who can collect any item - from exclusive restaurant dishes to fast food, from alcohol to last minute gifts, from concert tickets and emergency make-up to dry cleaning - and deliver to wherever they are required.

All orders are made through the app or online, and can be placed seven days a week, from 8am until midnight, or until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. The service costs between £1.99 and £5.99, depending on where the order is from, plus 10% of the value of whatever’s ordered - and there’s no minimum order.

And the delivery drivers wear full uniform of striking black jacket, shirt and red tie - and always removes his helmet before making the delivery. The bikes, meanwhile, feature distinctive Henchman wings at the back.

Henchman has been trialling in parts of the capital over recent months - and its founders have been amazed at the varied uses customers are coming up with.

Co-founder and CEO Ryan Perera said: “Henchman is a personal concierge service designed to make busy Londoners’ lives run more smoothly - and all with the human touch, thanks to a great team working behind the scenes to bring customers the very best of what London can offer, plus our fantastic team of Henchman drivers out on the capital’s road.

“We say we can deliver anything, and we look forward to our customers putting that challenge to the test. My favourite deliveries so far include a fridge, which we delivered within 60 minutes of the order coming in, cinema popcorn to people holding a movie night with friends at home, and more than a few hangover cures in the shape of beroccas, lemsips and chicken soups.

“We even had someone use Henchman this summer whilst sitting in a restaurant in the City - the sun was shining in his eyes and there wasn’t another table available, so he ordered a pair of Ray Bans that we delivered to his hands before his second pint.”

Henchman is available across central London - from Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush in the west, to Shoreditch and the City in the east, and from Camden and Primrose Hill in the North to Battersea and Bermondsey in the south. And everywhere else in between.

And while Henchman can deliver anything in central London, it has also tied up with an exclusive range of food partners, all of which are curated in the app - offering customers the very best of London at reduced delivery prices.

Among those already signed up to Henchman include everybody’s favourite dim sum restaurant Ping Pong, trendy Chelsea noodle bar Phat Phuc and the uber cool M Restaurants group – with Henchman customers ordering £200 steaks for delivery on more than one occasion from the M RAW and M GRILL restaurants in the City. Other food, alcohol and retailer partners are due to be announced over the next couple of months.

Henchman’s Ryan Perera added: “We’re very excited at the way Londoners are already using us as their personal concierge service, with some early adopters already spending over £30,000 - while others are using Henchman to have their favourite 99p cheeseburgers delivered to them.
