20th anniversary for Artigiano in Fiera in Milan
From 5th to 13th December 2015, “Artigiano in Fiera” will reach an important milestone: the trade show, taking place at Fiera Milano (Rho-Pero) will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Covering an overall surface area of 310,000 square metres across 3,250 exhibition booths, visitors will be able to appreciate 150,000 products from 112 different countries.
What’s new this year is the event’s incredible growth. An impressive nine halls will in fact ensure improved representation of the worldwide crafts sector, from Italy (halls 1-3, 2-4 and 6) to Europe (halls 5-7), from Africa to the Middle East (hall 5), from Asia (halls 10-14) to the Americas (hall 14).
“Artigiano in Fiera” is confirmed as a crossroads of style and latest trends, featuring three large themed areas: Home Furnishing (hall 4), a space dedicated to furniture and home interiors; Fashion&Design (hall 4), the area set aside for fashion parades, hand-tailoring and upcoming designer talents; Creative Passion (hall 6), promoting a rich programme of courses and innovative workshops for hobby and manual arts enthusiasts.
The 61 restaurants and eating areas with food and wine specialities from all over the world and a growing number of events, will help to create an even more varied event, guaranteeing visitors the possibility to truly travel the world in nine days in an atmosphere of festivity and sharing.
The event, organised by Ge.Fi. - Gestione Fiere Spa, was first held in 1996, slowly becoming one of the social and cultural events most appreciated by the greater public. In all its 184 days, the trade show has allowed more than 24 million visitors to take an idealistic journey through the traditions of the world. The great general consensus is largely owing to the encounters with roughly 17,000 exhibitors over the last twenty years: artisans from all corners of the earth that have brought their customs and costumes to Milan from 146 different countries.
“Artigiano in Fiera continues to assume the semblance of a global village of trades, arts and human culture,” declared the president of Ge.Fi. - Gestione Fiere Spa, Antonio Intiglietta. “The event has offered people the possibility to enter into direct contact with hundreds of different countries through the faces, stories and experiences of men and women. The stars of the show however remain the artisans, who in seeking to create something unique and original for themselves and others, generate a true sense of amazement.”
