London companies dominate The Times’ Startup Track 15
London is home to 13 out of the 15 companies named in 2015 The Sunday Times’ Sage Startup Track 15.
Minicab booking app, Kabbee is amongst those companies in the list, which is measured based on sales growth over a two year period. Companies qualified if they grew annual sales during this time from more than £50,000 to over £1m – provided sales were less.
Analytical software developer, Black Swan Data took the top spot, having reported two year annual sales growth of 597 per cent per year. Followed by Pact, a fresh coffee delivery service, and Transferwise, the digital currency transfer service.
MarketInvoice also made the list, which has facilitated over £500m in funding for high-growth UK businesses since its launch in 2011, passing the half billion milestone in September.
Steve King, CEO Black Swan said: “When we started the business 4 years ago it was because we felt there had to be a better way for businesses and brands to make use of the mass of data available to them. Data is largely irrelevant unless you can harness its power effectively. So we are absolutely delighted to have been recognised at the top of this prestigious list. It’s a great acknowledgement for all our people and all our clients who have seen such value in the way we work to transform the way data can be used.
“We have built our business on our robust and intelligent NEST platform that consolidates public and commercial data sources to allow our scientists to apply predictive forecasting for our clients – these help them make better business decisions.”
Justin Peters, Kabbee’s CEO & Founder comments on the Sunday Times Sage Start-up Track 15 announcement: “Despite playing in the same space as the fastest growing company of all time, Kabbee has been growing successfully in London for four years, and revenues are on track to increase from £790K in 2013 to over £1.8m in 2015.
“We are delighted to be listed as one of Britain’s fastest growing start-ups, and we’re looking forward to Kabbee’s future and our plans for 2016.”
