Reintroduction of David Wilson Homes to South Yorkshire

A new David Wilson Homes site in the picturesque village of Hoylandswaine, near Barnsley, has marked the reintroduction of the housebuilder to South Yorkshire, as the development is the first to be constructed in the region for 10 years - demonstrating a growing affluence within the local housing market.

The new development, which commenced construction in August 2015 and is set to open its doors over the coming financial year, highlights the strength of the local economy as buyers increasingly move towards luxury homes in desirable locations. The last time David Wilson Homes developments were present in South Yorkshire was a decade ago, when new homes were available in Lodge Moor, Totley and Oxspring. With the housing market playing a critical role in the UK’s economic resurgence, the introduction of more luxury homes highlights a growing affluence within South Yorkshire – as residents of the area take the next step on the property ladder, making the move to larger and more desirable homes.

The development will underpin dozens of construction jobs and work for local subcontractors and suppliers, as well as provide funds to support the local community in areas such as education, transport and infrastructure.
