Landmark year for Hambleton business

A Hambleton financial services company is marking a major business milestone in spite of an overall downturn in the sector.

Stokesley-based Direct Financial Services is ending 2015 by celebrating its 10th year in business having seen substantial growth throughout the year despite the steady dip in the number of successful financial advisors in the UK.

Established by well-known local independent financial advisor (IFA), Tim Jopling, Direct Financial Services works with individuals and small businesses around North Yorkshire specialising in areas including pensions and retirement planning, investments and savings, financial protection and inheritance tax planning.

Tim is one of Hambleton’s most highly qualified IFAs and attributes his company’s success to its personal service, which has slowly decreased in the financial services sector as many businesses opt to work online.

In addition, the number of fully-qualified IFAs approved to give investment and pensions’ advice has significantly fallen in the last few years despite a greater need as individuals are forced to take more responsibility for their finances.

Tim said: “Ten years in business is a major milestone and I do attribute the company’s success to the face-to-face, local service we offer. Constantly changing regulations and the need for a very high level of qualifications has led to a drop in the number of IFAs in the UK at a time when we are in more demand than ever as successive governments make people more responsible for securing their financial future.

“Trust is the fundamental cornerstone to our business and is why we have worked with some of our clients for ten years. Our reputation is very important to us and we work exceptionally hard to be ahead of changes in various financial policies.”

Direct Financial Solutions has a team of four based at the Springboard Business Centre on Stokesley Business Park.
