Former Reds apprentice appointed as stylist
A FORMER hairdressing apprentice who has modelled for L’Oréal hair campaigns, has been appointed as a stylist at a Sunderland based salon.
Georgia Kirven is one step closer to her dream of creating hairstyles behind the scenes of some of the UK’s biggest hair shows, following years of modelling in front of the camera, after recently being appointed as a stylist at Reds.
Keen competitors in national and international events, Reds is an award winning hair and beauty specialist with over 30 years of expertise in the industry.
Having left school in 2012, Georgia from Barnes, started her career with Reds as a Saturday worker and went on to complete a three year NVQ course in Hairdressing.
Following training funding and ongoing support from Reds, the special occasion stylist is now attracting a regular stream of clients and boasts a strong portfolio of skills, after completing an advanced cutting and colour course through L’Oréal and recently training with hair extension specialist, Hairaiser to become one of two stylist at the salon to offer the service.
She said: “I love the freedom to be creative and since becoming a stylist and completing courses to boost my portfolio, I’ve been able to offer my clients a range of services. The team at Reds have been really supportive, offering advice along the way.”
Susan Hall, owner of Reds, said: “I’m delighted Georgia has progressed to become a fully-fledged stylist as she brings a wealth of talent to the salon.
“I take great pleasure in teaching young recruits, as not only is great to see your employees strengthen their skills, it also helps to refresh my own. Here at Reds, we strive to stay at the forefront of each season’s latest trend and Georgia is a great advocate of that. I’m sure she will have a very successful career in the hair industry.”
