Barratt Developments donates to disadvantaged children this Christmas
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes both Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, is donating to Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal this December, with the local housebuilder donating £100 to the charity for every home reserved across the division.
The fundraising, which sees the housebuilder partnering with local radio station, Radio Aire, will see a £100 donation made to the charity for every reservation at a Barratt Homes or David Wilson Homes site between Monday 30th November and Sunday 6th December 2015.
In addition to making a cash donation, staff at Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West head office will also be donating festive gifts, which will be collected and donated to the Mission Christmas cause, providing disadvantaged local children with gifts to open on Christmas morning, as well as holding a bake sale and a Christmas Jumper day as part of the fundraising.
Lisa Sullivan, Charity Manager at Radio Aire, commented: “We are so thrilled to have this wonderful and very generous support from Barratt and David Wilson Homes. This will make such a difference to the local children that so desperately need our help this Christmas as the poverty stats increase.”
Sam Wood, Sales Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, commented:
“We’re extremely pleased to be part of the Mission Christmas initiative with Cash for Kids, as it’s a very worthy cause. With 1 in 3 children living in poverty in our area, we’re just doing our part to help Mission Christmas provide these children with a very much needed treat over the festive period. Hopefully we’ll be able to raise a substantial sum of money from the new home reservations across the area, and also provide some great gifts thanks to the generous donations of the staff at our head office.”
