Pop-up restaurant Homeslice launches third bricks-and-mortar venue

Homeslice has returned to east London with its third site opening at 374-378 Old Street, Shoreditch, on 5 December.

The company began life with a hand-built wood fired oven in the courtyard of London Fields Brewery in 2011. Having gained momentum serving up slices across the capital’s street food markets and festivals, Homeslice took to bricks and mortar in 2013 with its first permanent site at 13 Neal’s Yard.

Homeslice’s expansion into 374-378 Old Street, Shoreditch follows the launch of its second restaurant and cocktail bar at 52 Wells Street, Fitzrovia in September 2015.

The official launch will be preceded by a 2-day soft launch on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th December.

“We’re excited to be returning to Shoreditch with our latest site; having started life serving up slices at street food markets across east London it feels good to be returning to the neighbourhood where it all started.” Located next to Shoreditch Town Hall, opposite Hoxton Square, the look and feel of Homeslice, Old Street draws inspiration from the Edwardian history of the building and its surroundings.

“We hope to have created a space that has the hallmarks of the signature Homeslice offering, whilst reflecting the local area and its distinctive atmosphere.” The interiors will feature wood-panelled walls, copper-topped tables, chandeliers and vintage tiling. The restaurant will seat over 100 customers across a two-floor dining area, outdoor courtyard, designated takeaway area and bar-style seating overlooking the restaurant’s open kitchen.

“As we expand our aim above all else is to maintain the culinary integrity of what we offer,” said Founders Ry Jessup and Mark Wogan. “We will continue to keep things simple with the Old Street menu, bringing Shoreditch a slice of our signature offering of 20” pizza, beer and wine, alongside seasonal cocktails.”

The Old Street opening follows the company’s second venue in Fitzrovia, which launched in August.
