Marinus Muller appointed site manager at flagship Croydon development
Barratt Homes has appointed Marinus Muller as site manager at its new Cane Hill Park development near Croydon.
Work to create Cane Hill Park is set to underpin 1,200 jobs locally and Marinus is at the helm, ensuring professionals across all trades work together to get the homes built.
Cane Hill Park, set on the former site of the hospital that appeared on David Bowie’s ‘Man Who Sold The World’ album cover, will feature more than 600 three, four and five bedroom homes. It is anticipated that the new development will boost the local economy by £7million a year as well as provide much-needed new homes for the local area.
Marinus, who has worked in the construction industry as a site manager for more than a decade, said: “It’s exciting to be working on such a high-profile development. It’s one of London’s biggest projects to transform disused public land and work is moving ahead at pace. Our sales centre and first show homes are set to open in January and completion of the first homes will be close behind in February.”
Barratt Homes has been keen to support local businesses and residents during the construction of the development. As well as the scheme underpinning more than 1,000 jobs the housebuilder has been working with young people and organisations to involve local apprentices, suppliers and subcontractors in the building process.
Marinus added: “Working with the apprentices is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. Nothing beats hands-on experience of working on a real life project and this will certainly be a highlight on their CVs.”
