Runcorn-based Johnson Service Group acquires Ashbon in multi-million pound deal
Cheshire-based textile services business Johnson Service Group (JSG) has acquired linen hire and laundry firm Ashbon Services Limited for £6.25m.
From its processing plant in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Ashbon expands JSG’s operations and production capacity in the North and Midlands.
JSG’s CEO, Chris Sander, said: “Ashbon is a strong business and it shares our core values of quality, reliability and service.”
The transaction follows Runcorn-based JSG’s acquisition, earlier this year, of laundry services firm London Linen. In 2014, JSG acquired hotel linen provider Bourne for £22m.
Mr Sander continued: “[Ashbon’s] 20,000 sq ft processing plant perfectly complements our Stalbridge, Bourne and London Linen operations, and will enable us to improve the service we offer to our customers in the Midlands and North of England.
“This acquisition furthers our strategy of buying businesses which can be integrated easily into the wider Johnson Service Group.”
In the year to October 31 2014, Ashbon reported a revenue of £4.5m.
