Day one: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#1 It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. For today’s top tip, please see below: For many businesses Christmas is the most profitable time of year. With the economy continuing to grow and reports stating that Briton’s are the most generous
Christmas shoppers, this winter UK consumers are predicted to spend on average £868 on food, drink, decorations and presents — amounting to over £16 trillion spent overall in the run up to Christmas Day.
In order to capitalise on this consumer spending, use previous knowledge and experience of past Christmases to ensure you’re fully prepared to meet this increase in demand. Review your historic data, to identify peaks in sales and stock levels. Doing so will allow you to make informed predictions about how your business will fare this year, so you can plan ahead accordingly.
If this is your company’s first winter, think about offering festive promotions on products and ensure there is enough stock available to meet a rise in demand. While household spending confidence is growing across the board, it might also be worth looking at consumer trends in your specific sector so you can determine how your business can take advantage of the festive season and differentiate itself from your competitors.
