Housebuilder marks National Tree Week in Bristol

As National Tree Week gets underway leading housebuilder Barratt Homes has revealed that it planted more than 7,700 trees in the region in the last 12 months.

Sales director Andrea Pilgrim said that Barratt has a firm commitment to safeguarding the environment.

“We have planted or retained more than 7,700 trees or shrubs at our developments throughout the Bristol area,’’ she said. “National Tree Week is a great reminder to everyone about the value of trees and at Barratt we take great care of the local environment.”

In addition to its tree planting programme the housebuilder incorporate features such as landscaping and planting guidance to create wildlife-friendly habitats across its developments in the south west.

The Tree Council’s National Tree Week takes place between 28 November and 6 December. It was founded in 1975 to make Britain more tree-conscious, encourage planting and raise awareness of the importance of proper care and maintenance of trees and has grown to become the UK’s largest celebration of trees.
