Unbelievable Machine Win Experton Big Data Vendor Awards

The unbelievable Machine Company (*um) has been selected as a “Big Data Leader 2016” as part of the Big Data Vendor Benchmark. The annual independent study by the Experton Group analyzes German providers of products and services for big data projects in various categories. *um has followed up last year’s award by receiving two top awards for 2016, placing them alongside sector giants such as Google and Arvato in the categories “Big Data Operations” and “Big Data Consulting (under 1000 employees)”.

The annual Big Data Vendor Benchmark is one of the world’s most important sector analyses. The Experton Group, a leading research and consulting firm for medium-sized and large companies, analyzes German providers of products and services for big data projects. The analysts scrutinize the offers of the individual providers and compare them within certain categories. This process includes measuring companies on the attractiveness of their portfolio and on their competitive strength, and on the basis of these assessments the companies are classified as a “Follower”, “Product Challenger”, “Market Challenger” or “Leader”.

The unbelievable Machine Company was judged in the two categories “Big Data Consulting (under 1000 employees)” and “Big Data Operations” – and has been rated a leader in both. The Experton analysts explain the criteria and results as follows:

“The companies classified as leaders possess a highly attractive range of products and services as well as a distinctly strong market position and competitive standing, and therefore fulfil all of the requirements for successful market cultivation. They are to be viewed as strategic pacemakers and opinion leaders.”

Last year *um was awarded this benchmark for the first time and was selected by Experton as a Follower in this category. As a newcomer, it was commended as “highly noteworthy.” Just one year later the Berlin company has leapfrogged the Challenger classification and been declared a Leader – standing clearly ahead of the other providers that were assessed. Experton has provided the following reasoning for its decision:

With new ideas such as custom Machine Learning as a Service and holistic, methodological consultation approaches, the company, which was also assessed last year, was able to move straight up from a Follower to the outstanding position of a Leader in the consultation category for companies with under 1000 employees.”

In this important category *um was able to consolidate its impressive result from last year and has retained its status as a big data Leader. This places the company on a par with the sector giants and ahead of the other providers with a similar number of employees.
