Exam success for Barnsley IT company employee
A Barnsley IT company is celebrating success after of one of its staff passed her accountancy exam.
Leanne Whittington of IT Desk has completed her AAT, Accounting Level 3, which is the equivalent to an intermediate diploma in accounting.
IT Desk, based in Goldthorpe, has also recently moved to bigger offices and seen staff numbers grow to 12.
Leanne’s course covered topics such as accounts preparation, costs and revenues, professional ethics and indirect tax.
Leanne, who is now studying for her Level 4, said: “I’m delighted to have completed my Level 3, but now it’s onto the next challenge. I feel like the more that I learn the stronger the company grows and it’s great that IT Desk are giving me the platform to learn as well as work.”
Leanne has worked at IT Desk for seven years as office manager and financial controller. Her tasks include cash management and maintenance of records.
“I love the challenge that being an office manager brings and I hope to carry on my personal development at a successful and growing company,” she said.
IT Desk managing director Chris Wright said: “Leanne has a real desire to learn and she makes our lives easier and we’d be lost without her. She keeps a check on things and makes things run smoothly while we’re monitoring our clients systems and carrying out remote support.
“The only way is up for IT Desk, we’re a growing company and we need to look after our staff and offer them personal development and Leanne is a great example of that. The happier our staff are, the better the service that we offer to our customers.”
IT Desk offers a range of IT support packages and specialises in proactive support including remote monitoring of IT systems.
