‘Passionate commitment’ wins Cheshire care home national award
The team at specialist nursing care provider, 3L Care in Cheshire has been recognised as the country’s leading – scooping Care Team of the Year at the National Care Awards.
This annual ceremony recognises the hard work of those in the care sector and was this year attended by 700 guests from across the country.
Michelle Milne and Allison Murphy from 3L Care fought off stiff competition to take home the award. The judges highlighted their passionate commitment to care and the high level of support they provide to people with complex health needs.
3L stands for Live, Laugh and Love; an ethos the 3L Care team embodies in everything they do.
The judges felt that Michelle and Allison took their passion to a new level – illustrated in the way they go above and beyond to enhance people’s lives. The panel described the team’s work as ‘truly meaningful’ and ‘inspirational’.
3L Care looks after people with complex health needs, acquired brain injury, physical & learning disabilities. The centre offers residents an impressive range of in-house activities, state of the art sensory facilities and staff frequently arrange trips out – something which requires a huge amount of planning.
“Of course we were thrilled when they announced 3L Care as winner of the Care Team award. This is a job that we are all passionate about, but to know that our passion shines through so clearly is wonderful,” said Michelle.
She added: “Carers of all kinds do a vital job – especially when it comes to enriching the lives of those who need help taking part in everyday activities.
“This award is a real boost for the team but the real reward is in the faces of the people we care for, and the appreciation of their loved ones. Taking someone who can’t walk to the shop to buy their wife an anniversary card, or making it possible for someone who can’t walk to go kayaking; you just can’t put a price on that. It’s the little things that make the difference, and that is why we do what we do.”
Caroline Heath, Sales Specialist for Specsavers Healthcall was on the judging panel for the Care Team category. She said: “I am so humbled to be part of this process, hearing the stories of the nominees has been fascinating. Specsavers Healthcall is delighted to sponsor such a vital award – everyone involved in this sector is exceptional in our eyes.”
