Batley nursery strikes the right chord in nursery rhyme week

Children at Carlinghow Hall Nursery in Batley have celebrated nursery rhyme week with a feast of singing, dancing and fancy dress.

The children donned the outfits of their favourite nursery rhyme characters, including the Grand Old Duke of York, Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men and the animals from ‘Walking through the jungle’.

Margaret Pollard, nursery manager, said: “The children had a fantastic time and the highlight of the week saw Kirsty Hall, one of our nursery nurses, dressed up as Little Miss Muffet and acting out the song with all the children who loved pretending to be scared of the spider!”

Established in 1968, Carlinghow Hall - one of the six-strong Happy Jays group of private nurseries across Yorkshire - provides a variety of special weeks and days for children to enjoy including Fruity Fridays, child safety week and flag day.
