Revealed: London Zoo ‘safari lodge’ inside new lion enclosure
London Zoo has released images of its safari lodge, which will allow guests to sleep ‘within roaring distance’ of the lions’ news enclosure.
The £5.7m redevelopment of the lion enclosure will house nine cabins and will cost around £400 per couple per night,
Launching in May 2016, the experience will offer guests an “immersive, fully-hosted adventure”, says the zoo.

Emma Taylor, head of product development at ZSL, said: “ZSL London Zoo is a magical place at night – we wanted people of all ages to have a chance to enjoy that magic, and immerse themselves in a fantastic experience unlike any other, sleeping near to our magnificent Asiatic lions.
“It’s hard to believe you’re in the heart of the Capital when you’re surrounded by the noises of the wild. Staying overnight at the Gir Lion Lodge in London’s most unique destination will give guests the chance to explore the Zoo on a hosted tour, while helping to fund our work for wildlife around the world.

The Gir Lion Lodge experience will be open six nights a week from May to December in 2016 with designated family nights and adults-only nights to ensure each stay is specially tailored to its guests. The nine lodges provide lodging for up to two adults and two children.
