Sheffield-based Westfield Health announced as 2016 Transplant Games sponsor
Westfield Health has been announced as the title sponsor for the upcoming British Transplant Games to be held in Liverpool.
The Sheffield-based company has worked with the Transplant Games for nine years, with 2016 marking Westfield’s eighth time as headline sponsor.
The Games, held once a year by the charity Transplant Sport (TS), attract hundreds of athletes, all of whom have had a live-saving transplant, to take part in events such as swimming, lawn bowls, volleyball and running.
The chairman of Westfield Health, Graham Moore, said: “The British Transplant Games is always an incredibly moving occasion.
“We were delighted to support the 2015 Games in Newcastle which left a wonderful legacy, with the number of people on the donor register across Newcastle increasing.”
He continued: “I’m sure Liverpool 2016 will be just as successful and we are delighted to help make the Games happen once again.
“Westfield Health is committed to making a difference to communities throughout the UK and we are extremely proud to be continuing our support of the Games in 2016.”
Andy Eddy, the chairman of TS, thanked Westfield for signing on to be the Games’ main sponsor for another year.
Speaking further, he said that with Westfield Health on board, TS can “really make a difference across the UK, in promoting not only the benefits of transplantation through this sporting event, but also in raising awareness of the desperate need for more people to sign on to the NHS Organ Donor Register.”
