Global firm WorleyParsons Europe moves northern operations to Manchester
International project delivery firm WorleyParsons Europe has chosen Manchester Green as its new base of operations in the North.
The Australian-owned firm has relocated from Bredbury, Stockport, to take a five-year lease on 20,000 sq ft of space at the South Manchester office development.
Manchester Green, which is owned by property developer and investor Barwood, is composed of five buildings. Two of the properties are let to healthcare innovation firm Chiesi and food ingredients supplier Ingredion as self-contained units, while building three recently underwent a refurbishment programme.
Barwood director Andrew Dickman said: “WorleyParson’s decision to relocate to Manchester Green builds on the success of the Chiesi signing last year.
“We have taken a proactive approach to investing in the building and refurbishing the space on a speculative basis, and this has been rewarded by securing high quality occupiers.”
Canning O’Neill and Jones Lang LaSalle are joint agents on the scheme.
Canning O’Neill director James Dickinson commented: “Barwood’s rolling refurbishment programme has paid dividends.
“This letting means that only 4,000 sq ft now remains available at building one and plans are now in place to refurbish building four which totals 30,000 sq ft.”
Manchester-based property consultancy TSG Property acted on behalf of WorleyParsons during the deal.
TSG director Trevor Sloan said: “As an organisation, WorleyParsons occupies 2.5 million sq ft around the world.
“My client considered other schemes in the area but the high standard of accommodation, location and the high car parking ratio proved to be the deciding factors.”
