Horncastle Group PLC relocates corporate HQ to Green Park Business Park

East Yorkshire property developer Horncastle Group PLC has relocated its corporate headquarters to Green Park Business Park near Newport.

The company moved from the iconic clock-tower building in South Cave earlier this month into one of the new Eco 90 Offices on the development, which is located at J38 of the M62, where the motorway becomes the A63.

Created by the Horncastle Group, Green Park is an environmentally friendly, 20 acre, mixed-use business park consisting of prime office, industrial and leisure space, destined to become a hub for businesses over the next few years.

When completed, the park will consist of an office zone, an industrial and warehouse zone and a leisure and commercial zone, which are currently being planned by the developer.

Ian Hodges, managing director of Horncastle Group PLC, said: “In creating Green Park Business Park, we had a number of objectives that have guided the project from day one. They include creating very attractive accommodation that will lead to the development of a business hub in the Newport and North Cave area which will have a significant, positive impact on the level of economic activity, and making the development as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible.

“This can be seen in the design of the buildings which are very energy efficient and all have Energy Performance Certificate ratings of A. There is also a wind turbine that became operational at the end of October and now feeds electricity into the national grid to offset usage on the park.”

Mr Hodges added that the Horncastle Group had decided to relocate to Green Park Business Park to demonstrate the company’s commitment to the project, help establish a business community and promote the development.

He said: “We’re very proud of Green Park and keen to see it fully developed over the next few years so it can create additional growth opportunities for businesses in the region.

“The ethos behind it is very much in line with our values as a company – modern, responsible and innovative – so therefore it was a logical decision to make Green Park our new headquarters.

“It is also a source of considerable pride that we are now occupying one of our own developments which is a very fitting place for us to be.”

All but three of the units in phase one of the development, which consists of 10 eco-offices and a 20,000sqft eco-industrial unit, are now occupied or reserved. Future phases are being planned and will include design and build packages to suit end users requirements.

The first phase of the project is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013. Further speculative development will also be undertaken if ERDF grant can be secured in the future.
