Yorkshire Housing Supports Gas Training Excellence
Housing Association Yorkshire Housing takes Brookhouse Training student Esther Cope under their wing as part of a mentoring programme to offer on the job mentoring to up and coming gas engineers.
Esther joined the firm’s Bradford District team carrying out gas servicing and attending to breakdowns as part of a guaranteed Work Placement whereby trainee gas engineers complete an on-site programme to complete a portfolio of evidence - a mandatory requirement to become a qualified Gas Engineer.
Yorkshire Housing has been working with Brookhouse Training for the past four years and continues to support the company develop quality gas engineers. Impressed with Esther’s work the Association have encouraged her to apply for a full-time position with them when one arises. In the meantime Esther is currently working on a part-time basis for the Association through an agency as demand increases during the winter months.
Lee Holmes, Gas Technical Coach at Yorkshire Housing said: “Esther is excellent, I can’t fault her skill or knowledge in the work she does. I look forward to working with her in the future.
The standard of people coming from Brookhouse Training is very high, especially their motivation to come in every day without moaning about staying late and completing a full day with our engineers. “
