Caffe Latte franchise creates 8 new jobs with Headingley opening

Husband and wife team Asad and Dilnaz Shah have relocated from India to invest in a UK franchise business, Caffe Latte.

The Royal Bank of Scotland has supported this new venture with start-up costs, along with a cash injection for the couple, in a deal worth £164k.

Asad and Dilnaz, who have lived in the UK for 18 months, carried out market research in Leeds and Sheffield before deciding and committing to opening their first Caffe Latte in the densely student populated area of Headingley.

Eight new roles have been created, which includes a full time manager and a mixture of part time positions, to support the seven day a week business. Dilnaz will be onhand day to day to train the staff and meet her new customers.

Established in 2008, the Caffe Latte also provides a gluten free option on the menu.

Dilnaz Shah, Co-owner of Caffe Latte, said: “We have relocated to England and wanted to set up a business involving food and drink. We really took the time to understand the laws and business requirements to ensure we were well placed to run the business. When we explored the various franchise models available, Caffe Latte ticked all the boxes and provides the comfort of knowing we are not going into this venture alone, but with the support and guidance of a reputable franchise that is evolving year on year. It’s a real achievement for us to relocate to a new country and start up a business at such a young age – I am 24 and Asad is 31-years-old.

“Royal Bank of Scotland has impressed us from the start, especially Simon our Relationship Manager, who has delivered above and beyond and always gone the extra mile when we needed it. We are very grateful for his professional support and excited about working in partnership as we look to grow the Caffe Latte chain within our franchise proximity.”

Simon Winterburn, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “We have a strong desire to support local franchisees. Asad and Dilnaz are a great example of how we can help start-ups get their businesses up and running. We wish them all the best as they establish the Caffe Latte brand in Headingly and confident this franchise will be a profitable choice for them.”
