Groupe Geraud moves UK HQ to Prescot
Market operator Groupe Geraud has established a new UK headquarters in Prescot, Merseyside.
The firm has moved a 29-strong team to its base in the 90,000 sq ft Prescot Shopping Centre, which it acquired at the beginning of October.
Another 14 members of staff will remain at Groupe Geraud’s Liverpool office, from which it runs markets for the city council.
The move has coincided with the company’s acquisition of the 2,000 sq ft printworks site next to the shopping centre.
Philip Lamb, the managing director of Geraud UK, said: “Our HQ relocation demonstrates our commitment to Prescot.
“We said when we acquired the shopping centre that we wanted to herald an era of transformation for the town centre.”
He continued: “Firstly we secured the future of the businesses in the centre, and we will be discussing the future development options with Knowsley Council.
“Groupe Geraud is a third generation family business and our ethos is to work together in partnership. We are looking forward to working with Knowsley Council and all businesses in the town to put the heart back into Prescot.”
Geraud UK currently employs 130 people in the UK.
Knowsley Council’s Cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, Cllr Mike Murphy, commented: “This is another positive piece of news for Prescot.
“We look forward to welcoming Groupe Geraud to Prescot and working with them to support the council’s vision of transforming the town centre into a thriving place for people to visit.”
