Robertson Construction target £50m turnover for newly opened Sheffield office
Robertson Construction England is continuing to secure new projects across Yorkshire and the East Midlands following the opening of a new base in Sheffield.
The office, at Thorncliffe Business Park in Sheffield, is targeting a £50m turnover figure delivered by a local team and utilising the local supply chain.
15 jobs have been created so far alongside the opening of the new office, with a recruitment drive currently seeking to fill new roles across all disciplines within the business.
The team will seek to deliver construction projects across all sectors, but has identified particular growth opportunities in the student accommodation and private rented sectors.
Projects will range in value from circa £5m to £25m.
Paul Turner, regional managing director of Robertson Yorkshire and East Midlands, said: “In line with the Robertson regional business model we have been tasked to grow a sustainable business with strong margins, which will ultimately deliver £50m of turnover per year.
“In our first four months we have secured orders totalling £12m with a further £20m in negotiation. On the back of this we plan to expand the office space we currently have in the New Year, and we are recruiting across all disciplines as we secure further projects.”
Robertson Construction England is part of Robertson Group, the privately-owned portfolio of individual companies working in infrastructure, support services and construction throughout the UK.
Andy McLeod, managing director of Robertson Construction England, added: “As a Group Robertson employs over 1600 people throughout the UK. Our strategy for growth utilises a regional business model which allows us to create new businesses in key locations throughout the UK. Yorkshire and East Midlands has been identified as a location that will allow us to grow the Robertson brand using a local team that understand the area.”
Current projects being delivered from the Sheffield office include Goldthorpe Primary School £4.3m, a new Premier Inn at Matlock £2.8m and a £6m student accommodation project at Portobello Street in Sheffield.
