Swimming lesson firm Puddle Ducks set to achieve £1m turnover

Puddle Ducks, a company offering swimming lessons for babies and children, is on track to see its turnover break the £1m barrier for the first time.

The firm, which is based in Northwich, is targeting 40% growth in its current financial year.

Puddle Ducks saw its beginnings after expectant mother Tracy Townend and Jo Stone met while on maternity leave in 2001. The pair, both of whom have backgrounds in project management and engineering, decided to launch a baby swimming business.

After initial success, the company sold its first franchise in 2007 and today comprises a network of 34 franchises.

The network’s turnover figure for the last financial year stood at £865k.
