Electric String inspires future interior designers

Marrying design with technology is one of the biggest challenges for today’s interior designer – people don’t want to just live and work in stylish surroundings, they also want access to the latest equipment.

Electric String, a leading integrator of bespoke audio visual systems, has partnered with the National Design Academy (NDA), a specialist in interior design education, to help educate and support designers in audio visual and automation technologies.

Rob Sullivan, Commercial Director for Electric String, has this month led a seminar at the NDA in Nottingham, guiding tutors on the key principles that designers need to understand when working with audio visual specialists and explaining the broad range of products and approaches.

NDA students were also treated to a Q&A session which incorporated examples of equipment and what designers need to consider if clients require high quality audio visual equipment in a project.

Helen Keighley, Director of Quality & Business for NDA, said: “It’s essential that both our tutors and students have access to the latest information and understand what products are available and how they impact on design. We are very grateful to Rob and Electric String for spending the day with us and making both sessions highly relevant and interactive”.

Rob Sullivan, Commercial Director for Electric String, commented: “Technology is moving at such a pace that it is essential to help our upcoming designers understand what is out there, how it works and what could be achievable in the near future.”

“By engaging directly with both students and tutors at the NDA and sharing our expertise in commercial and high residential audio visual projects and installations, we can hopefully help shape a clear future where technology and buildings can live in harmony.”

The National Design Academy will use information supplied by Electric String to update its course content and will share a video of the seminar session with all NDA students.
