TLJ installs locking system at Old Oak in London

TLJ Security Systems has joined a West London project to transform a 1970s office building into pioneering accommodation for students and young professionals.

The Yorkshire-based supplier of smart security technologies to the accommodation industry has installed its innovative locking system at the Old Oak development by The Collective in partnership with Mace Group.

Old Oak, which opens its doors in May 2016, will feature compact studio rooms with boutique design, en-suite bathrooms and private kitchenettes, plus 10,000 square feet of luxury shared spaces and facilities.

TLJ has supplied and installed TLJ Infinity electronic key card locks on 779 bedroom doors at Old Oak. It has also installed its innovative TLJ Connect locking system, which combines the offline Infinity door locks with online hotspot readers that are strategically located on corridors, elevators and any communal areas.

Any changes that are made centrally, such as cancelling cards or updating access times, are sent to these online hotspots. The access key cards then work as storage devices, downloading and uploading data every time the hotspot is used. As the card is used on individual locks, the information is then passed across.
