Global Radio reveals plans for Capital FM Liverpool
London-headquartered media firm Global Radio will launch its new Liverpool station next month.
Juice FM will rebrand as 107.6 Capital FM Liverpool on January 18th, with city presenters Adam Weighell, Imogen Townley and Gemma Cutting confirmed to present the station’s breakfast show between 6am and 10am, Monday to Friday.
Meanwhile, Graeme Smith and Sarah Story are set to join the station to present its Drivetime broadcast, from 4pm each weekday.
Ashley Tabor, the founder and executive president of Global Radio, Capital’s parent company, said of the launch: “This is a really big day for Global – finding the right way to introduce Capital to the wonderful city of Liverpool has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time and we’re so pleased we’ve found the best local line-up and team to make that happen.
“In 2016, we’ll be bringing Liverpool the biggest hits from the world’s hottest stars and so much more. Watch this space!”
Elsewhere in Capital FM Liverpool’s schedule, DJ Anton Powers will take the reins every Thursday and Friday from 6pm onwards, while Baz Todd will host the station at weekends.
Chris Chambers, meanwhile, has been appointed as Capital FM Liverpool’s news editor.
The commercial director of Capital FM Liverpool, Graham Sarath, said: “Adam, Gemma and Imogen are loved by listeners on Juice FM and as we launch 107.6 Capital FM Liverpool, they will continue to wake up the city with their brand of humour and fun alongside the best hit music.
“Local lad Graeme is making a welcome return home to Liverpool together with his co-host Sarah and we know our listeners are going to love them.”
He added: “Anton and Baz will get our listeners in the party mood at the end of the week and into the weekends with their dance music shows.”
