Work begins on Tonbridge luxury development
Construction is underway on 14 new luxury apartments and a 4000sq ft commercial unit in Tonbridge, thanks to the support of a funding deal provided by Royal Bank of Scotland.
Kent property developer Deco Design and Build Co, part of the Northstar Group, has started work on the project which is located on the site previously known as the Hogs Head on Lyons Crescent, adjacent to the River Wharf.
The project will result in the creation of two separate buildings - ‘Harrys Wharf’ and ‘Ronnie’s Wharf’. Harrys Wharf is a new three story building, which is currently under construction, will provide five, two-bedroomed apartments, including a penthouse with three terraces.
The former Hogs Head building is also being re-built and will be re-named Ronnie’s Wharf. Also split over three floors, it will house a selection of nine, one and two bedroom apartments, some with terraces and river views including a 1200 sq ft penthouse.
The project is expected to complete in autumn 2016. Royal Bank of Scotland has supported the development with a seven figure loan.
Marco Williams, Director of Deco Design and Build Co Limited said: “We are really pleased that work is now underway on this development.
“As with all of our projects, we aim to create properties of the highest standard and have invested a great deal of resource into designing apartments that offer the best use of the space available.
“The area is only 33 minutes away from central London by direct train and so should appeal to a wide variety of homebuyers.
“We have worked with Royal Bank of Scotland on a number of projects and the funding and service we have received is been excellent. Working alongside their specialist Real Estate team makes the whole process much simpler and straightforward.”
Mike Flannery, Relationship Director at Royal Bank of Scotland Real Estate Finance said: “I am pleased that we are continuing to work with Marco and the team at Deco Design and Build Co.
“They have an excellent track record and have produced many high quality properties to date. The plans for the new development are excellent and I am sure the properties will be very popular with homebuyers.”
