DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool unveils Presidential Suite and Spa
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool Celebrates Christmas at Special Preview Evening
Dr. Marwan Koukash, owner of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa, Liverpool this week welcomed specially invited guests to preview the new hotel, spa and restaurant.
Guests were greeted with the brand’s signature warm chocolate chip cookie on arrival before enjoying a champagne reception in the Corinthian Grand suite, the former Victorian private member’s club dining room. Taster canapes including frogs legs and snails from the Jean-Christophe Novelli at Michelle Brasserie menu and special DoubleTree by Hilton cocktails surprised and delighted those previewing the hotel.
Dr Marwan Koukash welcomed invited guests to DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool, saying, “It is an honour to present such a stunning venue to our professional friends this evening. I first walked into this building over a decade ago and immediately knew that this had to be brought back to life.”
Koukash, management company Interstate Hotels and DoubleTree by Hilton representatives have worked with conservation officials to transform the two co-joined Grade II* listed buildings, which date back to 1865. Original Victorian features have been restored throughout the 87-bedroom property with sweeping staircases, Italian mosaic tiles, 19th century walnut wood paneling and stained glass windows highlights of the hotel. Rich textures and fabrics inspired by the Liverpool’s mercantile past, alongside historical reportage photos of Liverpool life provide the finishing touches to the vibrant, upscale hotel.
The preview evening was a chance for guests to experience the hotel’s new eforea spa. Spa facilities include six treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and 24-hour fitness suite. Therapists treated guests to complimentary treatments from eforea spa’s ‘Journey Enhancement’ treatment menu, which take inspiration from ancient massage techniques.
Also showcased for the first time was the highly anticipated Presidential Suite. The site of Liverpool’s first Catholic Church and once Liverpool’s family court, the breathtaking 796sq ft room features original stained glass windows, restored marble fireplace and elaborate plaster work in blue and white creating a majestic vaulted ceiling. Interconnecting guest rooms, wet room with double steam shower, heated seating, large roll-top bath and twin basins feature within the palatial suite.
Dr Marwan Koukash finished the evening by adding; “The defining moment in this process has been watching the astonished faces of those viewing the hotel for the first time. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Liverpool is the perfect place to stay, unwind and dine. I’m so proud of the rejuvenation of the building and all that the hotel has to offer both visitors to the city and local people. There is nothing like it in Liverpool.”
