Salford residents rally with Keepmoat to donate toys
People in Pendleton have partnered with community regeneration and housebuilding specialist, Keepmoat, to donate new toys and books to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for Christmas.
Residents and tenants at Thorn Court and Whitebeam Court, located in the heart of Pendleton, got behind a joint venture with Keepmoat and the local Thorn Court community shop to contribute towards or donate new toys for sick children who are spending their Christmas in hospital this year.
Keepmoat is currently working with Salford City Council and the Together Housing Group on a regeneration project called ‘Creating a new Pendleton’ of which Thorn Court and Whitebeam Court is part of.
The team at ‘Creating a new Pendleton’, together with Keepmoat staff and subcontractors across the North West, also got involved with the venture which collected more than £1000 worth of toys and books.
Frank Mondino, area director for Keepmoat in the North West said: “The work we are doing in Pendleton serves to enhance the area as a great place to live and work, while building on what is already a strong community. The fact the people of Pendleton have reached out to support us in collecting for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital serves to showcase just what a great community there is here.
“Being in hospital at any time of year can be tough and particularly at Christmas; but between the remarkable staff at the hospital and the gifts our teams and residents have provided, we hope there will be a few smiles on Christmas morning.”
