The firm will provide Cataclean Diesel for the RAC's fleet of 1,400 vehicles

Liverpool firm Cataclean secures RAC deal

Cataclean, the Liverpool-based engine care company, has secured an agreement to supply its flagship product to the RAC’s entire fleet.

Following an initial trial that saw Cataclean Diesel used in 40 of the national automotive services firm’s vehicles, the RAC has now commissioned Cataclean to supply the product for the rest of its 1,400-strong fleet.

William Jones, the director of sales at Cataclean, said the RAC chose its product due to the increasing number of call-outs for vehicles with clogged diesel particulate filters (DPFs).

He said: “The RAC receives regular roadside call-outs from drivers who have noticed dashboard warning lights flick on after DPFs have clogged.

“Roadside technicians can usually clear the blockage via a manual regeneration. However, Cataclean can reduce the harmful build-up even further – extending the period before which another regeneration is required.”

William added: “Essentially, the product will enhance the work that RAC technicians carry out at the roadside, while motorists will notice a direct benefit in their vehicle performance and enjoy greater peace of mind. It’s a win-win situation.”

Commenting on the deal, Graham Fraser, Cataclean’s corporate development director, said the firm is “delighted” to be given the chance to further develop its relationship with the RAC.

The RAC’s technical director, Phil Ryan, said: “With some 11m diesel cars on the road it is not surprising that our patrols are increasingly encountering problems with diesel particulate filters.

“The RAC has long known the benefits of Cataclean products which is why we stock RAC Cataclean in our online shop.”

He continued: “Equipping our patrols with Cataclean Diesel therefore seemed like a natural extension of our existing relationship as it helps to solve a frustrating problem for motorists.”
