Construction recruitment specialist increases regional presence with Hull expansion
A construction recruitment specialist is set to expand into Hull to spearhead growth in the East Yorkshire region.
Caval, which is headquartered in Leeds and has offices in Manchester and Newcastle, has secured a new Hull city centre office situated in Norwich House, Savill Street, as part of its growth strategy to reach the £40m turnover mark by the end of 2020.
The company has appointed Ellis Branagan to head up the office, who joins Caval with four years’ experience in construction recruitment in Hull. In addition, Caval has plans to create further jobs on the team over the coming months.
Graham Hunt, managing director, said: “We’re confident that the construction sector in Hull and surrounding region will welcome the service we offer clients. We considered a number of potential UK sites but Hull is the key city we want to expand into, given the huge investment in it as the City of Culture 2017, the availability of highly-skilled construction workers and the city’s transport links from London and the north.
“The aspirations of Hull as a city closely reflect those of Caval’s - the City of Culture 2017 is a massive achievement and we’re looking forward to being part of that.”
Caval is a recruitment consultancy specialising in placing candidates across the Construction, Civils, Mechanical & Electrical, Technical, Rail and Facilities Management sectors.
The move follows a successful year for Caval, in which it achieved more than £19m turnover and won significant contracts with several clients including Laing O’Rourke.
The company, which was set up in 2008 by Graham Hunt, Jamie Talbot, Oliver Burt and Matthew Chapman, has also grown its own team from 25 to 35.
